About
Hi, my name is Ashley and I am a faith-based writer, nature lover, and wellness advocate. I am also an old soul who loves music — my favorite genres are Country, 60’s soul, and 90’s R&B. I have a deep appreciation for art, culture, and traveling. I am obsessed with elephants and waterfalls.
Over the last few years, my life has shifted in some very unexpected ways. Many of the changes I’ve experienced have been incredibly painful, yet transformative in the most beautiful way.
To give you some context about some of these changes — I relocated to a new state, unexpectedly developed some health issues, learned that I am gluten intolerant, became single after a broken engagement, ended friendships with people I never imagined living life without, grieved the loss of loved ones, and battled with my mental health and a serious case of burn out.
I have also graduated with my master’s degree, found a beautiful church home, healed from some of my deepest struggles, and discovered inner strength I never thought I had.
That is the thing about life… the pain and challenges we experience makes us appreciate life so much more when the good finally comes. And believe me, no matter how long things have been tough, the good always comes.
Why I created this space
Creative expression
I created this blog mainly to express my thoughts and tap back into my creativity. One thing I’d like for you to know about me is that I am an introvert. I appreciate and love being around friends and family.. But, I value my alone time just as much (maybe more lol). Many introverts express themselves best through writing — I am no different. So, that is what this blog is, a safe space for me to release the words I’ve held inside for a long time.
It is my hope and prayer that you are encouraged every time you visit my blog. I pray that you feel a sense of belonging, and that the words on these pages will serve as a reminder that you are not alone in your struggles. I hope you feel seen, loved, and valued — because you are.
Romans 8:18
The pain you have been feeling can’t
compare to the joy that is coming.
